Drag-and-drop temperature, pressure and flow sensors onto the correct zones of an industrial power plant. Built on real plant imagery with instant feedback on every placement. Touch-friendly — works on any device.
The Power Plant Sensor Placement simulator trains engineers and technicians to correctly identify and position instrumentation sensors on an industrial power plant layout. Trainees drag sensor symbols — temperature, pressure, and flow — onto the correct measurement points on a realistic plant graphic.
Unlike passive training materials, this module gives instant visual feedback: correct placements snap into place, while incorrect ones return to the start — reinforcing learning through active decision-making rather than passive reading.
| Sensor Type | Symbol | Measurement Points | Application |
|---|---|---|---|
| Temperature | TT / TE | Boiler casing, process lines, steam outlet | Thermal monitoring, safety limits, efficiency |
| Pressure | PT / PG | Gauge tappings, pump outlets, vessel nozzles | Overpressure detection, pump performance |
| Flow | FT / FE | Inline pipe segments, feed lines | Mass balance, process control, alarming |
Choose from three sensor symbol cards — temperature, pressure, or flow. Each shows the P&ID symbol and a brief description of where it is used in plant instrumentation.
Drag the sensor card over the power plant image. Blank label zones highlight as you hover. Both mouse drag and touch-drag are fully supported on all devices.
Correct placements snap in and are counted toward your score. Incorrect ones bounce back to the panel — reinforcing the right answer without discouraging the trainee. All 7 placements must be correct to complete the exercise.
